Photograph Your Flowers: A Floral Design and Photography Workshop
A photograph of a beautiful flower arrangement is made up of two parts. The first is the flowers expertly layered and styled in a way that highlights their stunning textures and colors. The second is maximizing natural light and using the camera to capture the flowers in a way that successfully transfers the beauty that you see onto the screen. This workshop shows you how to do both combining a lesson in floral design and basic flower photography in one!
What You'll Learn
You’ll begin the workshop learning styling techniques from floral designer and Fleurs Creative owner, Alicia Schwede. Then you will have time to create your own arrangement before photographer and owner of Fake Food Free Productions and CreatingYOU.® studio, Lori Rice, shows you simple ways to photograph your flowers maximizing the benefits of natural light using minimal tools. Both instructors will be available as you design your arrangements and photograph them to answer questions and offer feedback.
Who should attend:
Anyone with the desire to learn more about floral design and photography, especially those who photograph their own flowers and arrangements for their small businesses, websites, and social media. This workshop will incorporate the use of a DSLR or mirrorless camera. While the focus will not be smartphone photography, what you will learn in the class can be applied to photographing with your phone to improve your flower photography.
What’s included:
Floral design and photography instruction from two experienced professionals, supplies to create your own arrangements, a few simple tools for controlling natural light for your photography.
What to bring:
Your camera (including any accessories you use) and a basic knowledge of how to operate it.

This class is scheduled for 3 hours, however it may very well run late. Best to prepare to be in the studio until 5pm.
